CFA and zOS 3.2

CICS File Availability 24/7 (CFA) 2.3 and above require CICS PTF(s) to be compatible with z/OS 3.2.  See IBM APAR PH68141 for the CICS TS z/OS V5 fix, and APAR PH68151 for the CICS TS z/OS V6 fixes.  These HIPER fixes were Closed 2025-10-09 (UP25/10/10).

These fixes update CICS module DFHLGIGT, which is in load module DFHGTCNV, which is in Linklist library CICSTS6x.CICS.SDFHLINK.  So the SDFHLINK library with the fix applied must be in the z/OS 3.2 Linklist, OR the SDFHLINK library with the fix applied must be in the CFA batch jobs’ JOBLIB or STEPLIB concatenations, along with the CFA load library, and the CFA load library must be made APF-authorized (which is not normally a requirement).

If these requirements are not met, CFA batch jobs will abend in z/OS 3.2 with message +DFHLG0194 ERROR DETECTED BY CICS SUBSYSTEM. ABEND 14C00408 00000053 00000000

(Note that IBM CICS batch Journal Utility Program DFHJUP is where the DFHLG0194 error and abend was first found in z/OS 3.2, and the PTFs fix both CFA 2.3 and above and DFHJUP.)
