MBCB042-MBCB201-BATCNTL ACCESS ERROR

Q:

Unable to add password via batch update. Receiving MBCB042 and MBCB201 msgs.

A:

The password update is failing because the control record is missing from the BATCNTL file. You can either:

1. Run the conversion job (sample JCL in MBCJCNV)to copy your existing options, then rerun your job to add the password.
   - or -
2. Enter transaction MBCA, choose Option 1 (Installation Options) and press Enter to update.
   Enter PF3 to get back to the Main Menu.
   Choose Option 0 (Password Maintenance), enter your password then press Enter to update.
