CEMT from Batch performance functionality

Q:

Why does my batch job have to wait 30 seconds before CMT begins to perform my command.

A:

The CICS portion of the product 'wakes' up periodically to check if there is work to do. The time period is controlled on the options screen using transaction BMTA with parameter ICINTRVL. Increasing this value reduces the number of transactions CMT generates while increasing the potential length of time a batch job waits for a response. Decreasing this value does the opposite.
