Upgraded the components used to create the z/OS
loadmods to Enterprise Cobol Release 3.4, with the LE components
from z/OS 1.4. The z/VSE version was generated using IBM COBOL
for VSE/ESA Release 1.1.1, with the version of LE that shipped
with z/VSE Release 3.1. If you are not running at least z/OS
1.4 or z/VSE 1.1, you may want to continue to run release 2.7. |

The *EHLOAD function of the HELPUTIL
batch program has been replaced with 4 different formats of the
*EHLOAD function. Now, all information for a screen and fields can be supplied
using HELPUTIL, not just field help text. |

The "Sticky Cursor" function has been
enhanced by allowing you to specify which text can be used for a
field by surrounding it with a ‘~’ (tilde) or other specified
character. The user can tab directly to text indicated as
"sticky". Optionally, you can specify that the user can only
select "sticky" text to be copied to a screen input field. |

When creating or updating help text,
MacKinney Systems’ CICS/QEDITOR can optionally be used, which
provides several additional editing options. A configuration
option allows you to switch between the "native" and the QEDITOR
editor. |

Help text for a particular field or
for the screen overview is no longer limited to a maximum of 25
17-line screens. (425 lines). Up to 5000 lines of help text can
be created and updated if using the QEDITOR editor. |

The HELPUTIL program has been enhanced
to allow loading, unloading, and deleting of help text for a
specified field. This allows for editing of help text using
editors other than the native and CICS/QEDITOR editors. |

Help menu (default is PF3) now causes a return to the previous

field directories without returning to the menu. |

For applications that support multiple
screen sizes, requests for help are now independent of the
actual screen size used, if the fields are defined on row/column
combinations that are valid for both screen sizes. |
