MLI Release Requirements

If you are migrating to:

VSE CICS TS 1.1.1:
This release requires you have fix 141046.

New z/OS release:

The only special requirement for MLI related to a new z/OS release depends on your usage of a 31-bit PCCA available with z/OS 1.9.
If you are not using a 31-bit PCCA, then no fixes are required. If you are using a 31-bit PCCA, then you must have fix 141107.

z/OS CICS TS 2.3:
This release of CICS requires you have fix 141088.
This fix requires RDO changes documented in the fix.

z/OS CICS TS 3.1:
This release of CICS requires you have fix 141096.
This fix requires RDO changes documented in the fix.

z/OS CICS TS 3.2:
This release of CICS requires you have multiple fixes including 141096, 141101, 141102, 141103, and 141118. Fixes 141096 and 141101 require RDO changes.
A product refresh is recommended (see below). See VS/COBOL note below if you are running VS/COBOL programs.

z/OS CICS TS 4.1:
This release of CICS requires you have fixes 141116 and 141146. This release requires RDO changes documented in fix 141116. A product refresh is recommended (see below). If you have applied local fixes 141071, 141078 or 141145, then you will need to install local fix 141147. If you are running VS/Cobol Interpreter (VCI), you must verify that the MLI Loadlib is concatenated ahead of the VCI Loadlib after applying fix 141146. If you are running VS/COBOL programs but not running VCI, see VS/COBOL note below.

z/OS CICS TS 4.2:
This release of CICS requires you have fixes 141151 and 141152 in addition to the fixes and requirements for z/OS CICS TS 4.1. Fix 141152 is NOT downward compatible, so it must be applied only to CICS TS 4.2 loadlibs. A product refresh is recommended before adding the required fixes.

Product Refresh:
A product refresh can be done by downloading the most recent libraries from our web site, uploading the new load and source libraries to your host and then using the appropriate new RDO members for your environment.

VS/COBOL users:
IBM dropped support for running VS/COBOL programs in CICS TS 3.1. If you have been running MLI with VS/COBOL programs, you will need to install our VS/Cobol Interpreter (VCI) product. VCI allows you to run VS/COBOL programs in CTS 3.1 and up.
