MAPR II 5.1
– In addition to a significant amount of maintenance that has been
applied to release 5.1, it also delivers some enhancements. Field names have
been expanded from 25 to 30 characters to match the maximum lengths allowed by
COBOL and PL/1. An optional password field has been added to each map’s
parameter screen. It can be required to browse the map, update the map, or both.
This password could also be used as a map check-out/check-in facility to prevent
updates by others until the programmer resets the map’s password. The ability to
use multiple separate MAPR files within the same CICS region has been added. The
transaction-id determines the file name to be used. Lastly, release 5.1 improves
maps used in web-enabling applications such as the 3270 Bridge by using the
actual full-length field name (instead of a 7-character dummy name) on the
MAPR-generated BMS macros and corresponding map load modules.

SimpList 1.2

New!
FileArc™, a
high-speed logical backup and restore utility for VSAM, sequential and
partitioned data sets. FileArc can be used to perform high-speed
reorganizations of VSAM data sets via the archive and restore process
without having to specify the existing DEFINE parameters. FileArc™ performs
a logical backup and will only copy the actual data - not free space or
unused space. As a result, FileArc™ is generally much faster than IDCAMS and
other utilities when performing the equivalent functions. Additionally,
FileArc™ offers Encryption and Compression features for securing your data
files.
New!
MacKinney Batch to
CICS was redesigned from the ground up to replace the functionality of
the MacKinney Systems' z/OS CICS/CEMT from Batch product. With MBC you can
quickly send commands from your batch jobs to your CICS regions to
coordinate file access, dynamically enable or disable programs and
transactions, kick off transactions, send terminal messages and more.

VS/Cobol Analyzer
You can use VS/Cobol Analyzer to help answer questions like "How many
OS/VS Cobol programs do we have?", "Would it be less expensive to convert
our programs manually or run MacKinney’s VS/Cobol Interpreter?", and "How
soon can we migrate to CICS TS V3.1?" To keep your costs to a minimum,
VS/Cobol Analyzer is available for monthly licensing
and is priced by machine capacity.
September 2005
New software!

Release 7.2 of
LISTCAT PLUS is now available. The following changes were
made:
-
Added support for z/OS 1.5 and above by adding
a 31-bit load library. Two load libraries are now supplied with the
product. The 24-bit load library must be used with OS/390 and z/OS 1.4
and below, and the 31-bit load library must be used with z/OS 1.5 and
above, in order to avoid a S0C4 abend.
-
For z/OS 1.5 and above, added some fields to
the LCTPCSI Catalog Search Interface program that were missing in
earlier z/OS releases of the CSI. Those fields are Total Records, CI and
CA Splits, and CI and CA Freespace percents.
-
Fixed a VSE problem with the Volume Summary
report when 3990 Model 9 type DASD is used.
-
Added support for when some Statistics fields
from IDCAMS are “--INVALID”.
January 2005
Version 5.0 of
CICS/MAPR II is now available. The
following enhancements were included:
-
New and improved directory screen with more
information and functionality. It now contains the date, time and
user-id of the last change made to each map. New functions now available
from the directory include Edit, Browse, Test, Copy, Delete.
-
Added edits to ensure that only one user at a
time can be updating a map.
-
Added support for the DFHWBOUT (WeB OUTput)
macro, which generates customized HTML from TEMPLATE map assemblies.
This can help web-enable BMS maps for use with the 3270 Bridge.
-
New B-Browse function on the main menu and the
directory screen. Browse allows a user to look at a map without updating
its last-changed statistics. It also allows browse access while another
user is updating the map.
-
Expanded PICIN and PICOUT maximum field lengths
from 20 to 40 bytes to allow for the larger numeric fields that are
possible with today’s compilers.
-
New warning messages have been added when a
variable field is not named, when a constant field is named, and when a
field exceeds the BMS maximum of 256 bytes.
